Dr. Bavij Balan is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist at Cochin Hospital for Brain and Behavioural Health (CBBH). He completed his MBBS from Amala Institute of Medical Sciences and his DPM in Psychiatry from Government Medical College, Trivandrum. He also holds postgraduate diplomas in Mental Health, Counselling Psychology, and Child Psychology, along with a Fellowship in Family Medicine from the Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI).

With more than a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Bavij has served in various capacities across leading institutions such as Government Medical College (Trivandrum and Manjeri), Baby Memorial Hospital (Kozhikode), and several multi-specialty hospitals across Kerala. His expertise covers a wide range of psychiatric care areas including mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, substance-use management, de-addiction, liaison psychiatry, and psychotherapy.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Bavij is actively involved in medical education and community mental-health programs, having conducted numerous awareness sessions, CMEs, and public health initiatives. He combines scientific rigor with a deeply empathetic approach, offering ethical and individualized care to patients and their families.
